Friends Lost in Time

"A person dies only when his name is uttered for the last time:

and only then if his thoughts are no longer within our Universe

When a friend or loved-one dies many of us shed a tear - not only for the one who is no longer part of our own existence, but more significantly because the death of a person means the loss of memories to share together. As we age we have less and less shared memories and this is one of the tragedies of the living. It is an emptiness that cannot be replaced. A human life is the making of memories: memories both personal that we share with our inanimate universe at large but of more significance shared with others. I cherish the memories I made with my friends and become engulfed in sadness when I think that we cannot share them again.
